SATURDAY TO BE RITES FOR TED LEHMANN
Funeral services for Theodore "Ted" H. Lehmann, Underwood
will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1:30 at Gardner's Chapel here.
Ted Lehmann passed away at the family home at Underwood
at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 10. He was born on November 13, 1907 at Raymond,
Minnesota and came here and 1913.
He is survived by his wife Martha, and 3 sons, Ted Jr.,
19; Richard 17; and Robert John 12, all of Underwood. Also surviving are
his mother, Mrs. Emelie Lehmann of Port Angeles, Wash., 2 brothers, Martin
of Ephrata, Wash., and Arthur of Seattle; also 2 sisters; Serena Danielson
of Santa Ana, Calif.; and Elfreda VanDeventer of Port Angeles, Wash.
He was a member of the Eagles lodge 2210 and the Mt.
Adams Elks 1868. Services will be conducted by the Elks lodge and the Rev.
Albert Allen of Hood River will officiate at the services.
Pallbearers: Don VanDevanter; John Gilmer; Jim Maupin;
Murl McCall; Clyde Gepner; and Jerry King.
Honorary pallbearers: Ted Balsiger, Lyle Ternahan, Norman
Krall, Orie Kreps, Jim Anthon, Doyle VanDeventer, Heinie Swager, Jack Jones,
Tommy Burke and Marion Babb.
Mr. Lehmann had been engaged in the logging business
of the area for many years and also operated the White Salmon Auto Supply
business here in White Salmon.
Burial will be at Underwood in the Chris-Zada Cemetery.

TED LEHMANN DIES AT HOME
Ted (Theodore Helmuth) Lehmann, 56, logger and owner
of the White Salmon Auto Supply, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at his
home on Underwood Hts. Cause of death was a heart attack. Oxygen, a heart
stimulant and artificial restoration were administered for 40 minutes but
to no avail.
Gardners are in charge. Mt. Adams Elks Lodge will conduct
of the funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Gardner's Chapel,
White Salmon.
Burial will be at Chris-Zada Cemetery, Underwood.

TED LEHMANN PASSES AT 56
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 for Theodore
Helmuth (Ted) Lehmann, who died Tuesday at his home in Underwood at the age
of 56.
Mr. Lehmann's death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was born Nov. 13, 1907, at Raymond, Minnesota, the
son of William and Emelie Krenz Lehmann. He was married at White Salmon January
31, 1937 to Martha E. Thun.
He had been a logger and with Mrs. Lehmann operated an
auto supply store in White Salmon.
SURVIVORS LISTED
Mr. Lehmann is survived by his wife, Martha; three
sons, Theodore, Richard William and Robert John; his mother, Mrs. Emelie
Lehmann of Port Angeles; brothers, Martin of Ephrata and Arthur, Seattle;
sisters, Mrs. Serena Danielson of Santa Ana, Calif., and Elfrieda Van Dervanter,
Port Angeles, Wash.
He was a member of the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge of White
Salmon and the Mt. Adams Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bingen.
SERVICES SATURDAY
Services will he held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gardner's
Chapel in White Salmon, with the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge participating. The
Rev. Albert E. Allen of the Episcopal Church, Hood River, will
officiate.
Interment will be at the Chris-Zada Cemetery at Underwood.
Active casket bearers will be Don VanDeventer, John Gilmer,
Jim Maupin, Murl McCall, Clyde Gepner and Jerry King.
Honorary casket bearers will include Ted Balsiger, Lyle
Ternahan, Norman Krall, Orie Kreps, Doyle VanDeventer, Jim Anthon, Heinie
Swager, Jack Jones, Tommy Burke, Marion Babb, James Whiting.

Funeral services for Theodore Helmuth (Ted) Lehmann,
56, Underwood Heights, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Gardner's
Chapel, White Salmon.
The Rev. Albert E. Allen of Hood River officiated, assisted
by Mt. Adams Elks Lodge 1868. Mt. Adams Eagles Lodge, Aerie 2210, conducted
graveside services at Chris-Zada Cemetery, Underwood.
Active casket bearers were Don VanDeventer, John Gilmer,
Jim Maupin, Murl McCall, Clyde Gepner and Jerry King.

Ted was born Nov. 13, 1907 at Raymond, Minnesota to William
and Emelie Lehmann and has been a resident of this area since 1913. He was
married to Martha E. Thun at White Salmon on Jan. 31, 1937.
Their honeymoon trip nearly ended in tragedy. They were
trapped in their car by a blizzard for 15 hours up the foot of Cape Horn
hill. Ted's cheerful courage, energy and ingenuity saved their lives.
These same personal qualities made Ted a successful logger,
farmer, civic and lodge leader and businessman. Regardless of how busy he
was, he always took time to help others. He was everyone's friend and nobody's
enemy.
He died Tuesday, Dec. 10 at his home. Cause of death
was a heart attack.
Ted is survived by his wife, Martha; three sons, Theodore,
19, Richard, 17, and Robert 12.
Also by his mother, Mrs. Emelie Lehmann of Port Angeles;
brothers, Martin of Ephrata and Arthur, Seattle; sisters, Serena Danielson
of Santa Ana, Calif., and Elfrieda Van Devanter, Port Angeles.
Ted was a member of the Mt. View Grange, White Salmon.
