THURMAN JONES SERVICE TO BE AT TROUT LAKE

     Graveside service will be held at Trout Lake cemetery Friday, April 11, at 11 a.m., for Thurman L. Jones. Gardners are in charge of the arrangements and Rev. Keith Curry will officiate. Bearers will be Raymond Cole, Jim Hendryx, Bill Balsiger, Oscar Wood and Floyd Brown.
     Thurman was born in White Salmon July 17, 1890, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Jones. He grew up on what is now the Jim Hendryx place, and moved with his father and brother to Trout Lake about 1902, where they made their home.
     Thurman married Esther Bullard of White Salmon, in 1907 and they lived in Trout Lake and White Salmon until 1927 when they moved to Merced, California. Twelve years ago they moved to Carrolls, near Kelso, Washington, where they have since made their home. Thurman was an active member of the Longview Nazarene Church, as Church School teacher and in choir work. He passed away January 30, and funeral services were held at Kelso at that time.
     He leaves his widow, Ether, at The Manor Nursing Home in Longview; one son, Robert, of Los Banos, California; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Love of Sitka, Alaska; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Tom Morgan of Lynwood, California.

     JONES -- Thurman Luther, 78, Box 1, Carrolls, died Jan. 30 in a local hospital. Born July 17, 1890 in White Salmon, he was a member of the Nazarene Church of Kelso, was a retired dairy farmer and had lived in the Carrolls area for the past 12 years.
     Survivors include the widow, Esther of Longview; one son, Robert of Los Banos, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Avis Love of Sitka, Alaska; one sister, Mrs. Nora Morgan of California; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
     Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at McVicker's Chapel on the Hill with the Rev. Red Fowler officiating. Interment will be in the Trout Lake Cemetery at Trout Lake, Wash. The time will be announced by the Gardner Funeral Chapel, White Salmon. McVicker's Chapel on the Hill is in charge of services.
