T. DAVIES FOUND DEAD IN FISH POND
Thomas Davies, 70, of Lyle, was found dead in a fish
pond near the home of his brother-in-law, Byrd J. Clark Tuesday noon by his
wife. Davies, it is believed, suffered a heart attack, resulting in his death.
Mr. Davies and he wife formerly lived in Portland and
had moved to Lyle to make their permanent home. The remains were taken to
White Salmon to the Gardner Funeral home. At press time no announcement of
funeral arrangements had been received by The Sentinel. Sheriff Russell Woodward
and Prosecuting Attorney Edgar H. Canfield investigated his death.

The funeral services of Thomas R. Davies was held in
the Lyle Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Reynolds of White Salmon conducted
the services and Mrs. W. Brashears and R.F. Niblock sang.
Mr. Davies had worked for the Union Pacific railway at
Portland for many years and was recently retired. Mr. and Mrs. Davies moved
to Lyle a little more than a month ago.
He was 70 years of age and is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Alma Davies of Lyle; a son, C. Davies of Portland; one sister and two brothers
in Iowa.
