"Lyle"
Tom Stafford, son of Mrs. Wilson, was killed Thursday at Liberty Bond. In climbing on the switch engine on the Wilson mill spur, his clothing caught in the cogwheel and drew him in the engine, crushing his side and chest. He was taken to The Dalles hospital, but died soon after his arrival there. The remains were interred Saturday afternoon in the Union Church cemetery, near Appleton.
