VERNON SORENSEN BURIED DEC. 13 AT LYLE, WASH.
Vernon Sorensen, age 58, died in Portland on Sunday,
Dec. 10, at the University of Oregon Medical Hospital.
He is survived by: his wife Adeline of Friends, Ore.;
2 brothers, Kenneth of Lyle and Glen of Salem, Ore.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Eunice
Omeg of Yakima, Mrs. Mildred Cooksley of Portland, and Mrs. Elna Humke of
Portland.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in
the Christian Church at Dufur, Ore. with Rev. Harry Atkins officiating. Interment
was at Lyle, Wash.

SERVICES DEC. 13 FOR V. SORENSEN AT DUFUR, ORE.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m.
at the Christian Church in Dufur, Oregon for Vernon Sorensen, 58, of Friend,
Oregon, who died Saturday Dec. 10 in a Portland hospital. Burial was at Lyle,
Wash. Casket bearers were Bill Yohey, Ross West, Harold Kelley, Bill White,
Harry Moore and Andy Taylor.
Mr. Sorensen, who was born August 23, 1909 at Hartland,
Wash., is survived by his wife, Adeline of Friend; three brothers, Harold
of Goldendale, Kenneth of Lyle and Glen of Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Eunice
Omeg of Yakima, Mrs. Mildred Cooksley of Portland and Mrs. Elna Humke of
Portland; three sons, Steven of Baker Ore.; Elton of Eugene, Ore., and Ronald
of Friend; and a daughter, Velma Sorensen of Friend.
He had been a resident of Friend for the past twenty
years and had been a logger and farmer until his retirement.
