DEATH TAKES VAL SANDEL
The death of Val Sandel occurred at Underwood Monday
morning. Mr. Sandel had been a patient sufferer for some time, death being
caused by cancer of the stomach. He was an orchardist at Underwood and was
a blacksmith by profession.
Mr. Sandel has been a member of the order of Eagles at
Stevenson for seven years and was buried by that organization Tuesday at
Underwood. He was 55 years of age and leaves a wife and daughter, three sisters
and two brothers and many friends to mourn his departure.

UNDERWOOD ORCHARDIST PASSES
Funeral services were held at the Underwood chapel Tuesday
for Val Sandel, aged 55 years, who died the day before. Rev. H.V. Rominger
officiated. Mr. Sandel, who has been engaged for a number of eyars as an
orchardist in the neighboring fruit district, was born at Lancaster, N.Y.
His wife and a daughter, Elizabeth, of Lancaster, survive. The following
brothers and sisters survive: George Sandel, of Greenwood, Ind.; Chas. Sandel,
of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Claude Keebler, Mrs. Frank Beeman, Mrs. Frances
Wagner, of Lancaster, N.Y.
S.E. Bartmess directed the funeral.
