VELDA F. BENJAMIN
Velda F. Benjamin, 75, of White Swan died Sunday, Nov.
21, 1993, at Yakima Memorial Hospital in Yakima.
Mrs. Benjamin was born May 29, 1918, to Caroline (Dean)
and Ralph Williams in Lawrence, Neb. where she was raised and educated. After
graduating high school she taught school for several years which she enjoyed
very much.
On May 30, 1941, she married Howard Benjamin, her husband
of 52 years. Following their wedding, the couple lived in California, and
then moved to the White Salmon area where they lived for a couple of years.
In 1968 the couple moved to the White Swan area.
Velda is survived by her husband Howard Benjamin of White
Swan; her sons, Dennis Benjamin also of White Swan, Terry and wife Cindy
Benjamin of Ketchikan, Alaska; her daughters Kay and husband Richard Carter
of Lynden, Wash.; Barbara and husband Herman Doscher of White Salmon; 6
grandchildren, Jeff King, Jason Carter, Deborah King, Johanna Carter, Douglas
and Emily Benjamin; brothers, Bob Williams of Garden City, Kan., Ralph Williams
Jr. of White Salmon; Jim Williams of Lawrence, Neb.; and numerous nieces
and nephews. Velda was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Krebsbach.
A gathering of her family and friends was held at the
family home at White Swan on Saturday, Nov. 27. In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests that contributions be made to the Washington Heart Association or
the American Cancer Society.
