WINTON
Victor H. Winton, 68, of Goldendale passed away Saturday,
Nov. 14, 1992, at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Carig, Minn., to Okley and
Gladys Winton He attended schools in Minnesota and served in the U.S. Army
during World War II.
He moved to Goldendale in 1965 and worked as a postal
clerk at the Goldendale Post Office until his retirement. In 1972, he married
Vera Guthridge in Yakima.
Mr. Winton was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist
Church and enjoyed hiking, making wine, picking huckleberries, gardening
and raising shaleshelties. However, he enjoyed observing nature most of all.
Survivors include his wife Vera; six sons, Monty and
Don Winton of Vancouver, Dan, Frank and Jesse Bybee of Goldendale, Mike Bybee
of Portland and Dale Bybee of Camas; three daughters, Lindy Beals of Texas,
and Donna Campbell and Paula Busby of Vancouver; two sisters, Twila Greeshen
of Umatilla and Shirley Pries of Onalaska, Wash.; one brother, Russell of
Arkansas; 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Winton,
and one brother.
Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 16 at Spring
Creek Cemetery with Pastor Vernon Chase of the Goldendale Seventh Day Adventist
Church officiating. Arrangements were under the care of Erdman Funeral Home.
