VIRGINIA CHARTERS
Virgina Jean Charters, a lifelong Klickitat County resident,
died Nov. 30, 1995, at her home, at the age of 69.
Mrs. Charters was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Lyle to Grace
(Nichols) and Wilford Arnold. She graduated from Columbia High School in
White Salmon. She married Robert Charters in 1955. She enjoyed Bible studies
and having lunch with her friends. She loved family gatherings, particularly
family reunions. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Congregational Church.
She collected salt and pepper shakers and wrote numerous letters.
Mrs. Charters is survived by her children Raymond R.
Charters, Portland, Deborah L. Hathaway, Presque Isle, Maine, Douglas R.
Charters, White Salmon, and Daniel J. Charters, White Salmon; brothers Everett
Arnold, Lake Oswego, Ore., and Calvin Arnold, Orchards; nine grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Charters were held Dec. 6, 1995, at
11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Red Smith officiating.
Interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Gorge or the
American Cancer Society in care of Gardner Funeral Home.
Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
