VICKY MARLENE MCGINNIS

     Vicky Marlene McGinnis, 48, Tygh Valley died near Tygh Valley on Saturday April 1, 2000.
     She was born March 1, 1952, in Sweet Home, the third of seven children to William Avery and Monnie Bell (Parker) Austin. She grew up and graduated from high school in 1970 in Trout Lake.
     She completed her certification from the Insurance Institute of America in 1976. She studied microcomputer information systems and worked on her associate of science degree at Portland Community College.
     In 1993, she was named the out-standing graduate from Columbia Gorge Community College and was awarded a certificate signed by Gov. Barbara Roberts for out-standing achievement in an Oregon community college.
     She completed her bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1995, from Warner Pacific College in Portland.
     She was employed at Mid-Columbia Medical Center's accounting department. She enjoyed family gatherings, camping, hunting, fishing, volleyball and yard work.
     She is survived by her daughter; Mackenzie Alaina McGinnis and grandson Taylor James Leslie; her son, Nicholas Adrian McGinnis, all of Tygh Valley; her father, William A. Austin; her sister; Janie P. Dodge, and her brother; Bob A. Austin, all of Maupin; her sister; Monnie "Sue" Austin of Olympia, Wash.; brothers, Barry L. Austin, Bandon, and David "Scott" Austin, Dufur; seven nieces and four nephews, four great-nephews and a great-neice.
     She was preceded in death by her mother; Monnie, in 1995, and a brother; W. Kenneth Austin, in 1971.
     Services will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 6. Graveside committal will be at Trout Lake Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
      A gathering of family and friends will follow at Trout Lake Grange Hall.
     Memorials may be made to the Southern Wasco County Ambulance Fund, P0 Box 125, Maupin, OR 97037.
