FUNERAL RITES HELD ON SUNDAY FOR W.A. IMRIE
William Albert Imrie, 82, pioneer of the Goodnoe Hills
community, died at his home in Alderwood Manor near Seattle June 5 following
an extended illness. Mr. Imrie came to Klickitat county nearly 60 years ago.
He moved from Goodnoe Hills in 1925.
Survivors include the widow, Arvilla, five daughters,
Mrs. Grace Rice, Grants Pass, Ore.; Miss Beatrice Imrie, Hollywood, Cal.;
Mrs. Ethel Conn., Roseburg, Ore.; Misses Lillian and Juanita Imrie, Alderwood
Manor, Wash.; four sons, Jessie and Wilford, Goodnoe Hills; Andrew, Roseburg;
and Clifton Imrie, Alderwood Manor.
Fifteen grandchildren, two brothers and a sister at
Tilsonburg, Ontario, Canada and a sister in Detroit, Mich., also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Church of Christ in Goldendale.
Burial was in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
He was born in Tilsonburg, Ontario, Dec. 19, 1857. At
the age of 19 he left his home in Canada and came to California and then
to Washington. In 1886 he was married to Arvilla Jane Beeks. In 1936 the
couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
