WILLIAM W. ARNETT
Longtime White Salmon resident William Arnett died Sunday
at the age of 80.
Mr. Arnett was born in Nov. 2, 1897, in Mexico, Mo.,
to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Arnett. He moved to the White Salmon area 57 years
ago and worked 25 years with Mt. Adams Orchards and 22 years with his own
orchard retiring in 1971.
He was a member of the American Legion Evan Child's Post
# 87, Mount Adams Elks Lodge #1868, Masonic Lodge #163, and White Salmon
Chapter #107 Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a World War I veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Orva Arnett, White Salmon;
one son, William H. Arnett, White Salmon; one daughter, Luvena Maulden,
Grandview, Wash.; one brother, Ira Arnett, Astoria; two sisters, Grace Lytle,
Portland, and Ivy Zarnek, Astoria; five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Rev. Frederick Haag conducted funeral services Sept.
20 at Gardner Funeral Home, followed by a private Interment at White Salmon
Cemetery.
