WM. A. SARSFIELD RITES HELD HERE
Graveside services were conducted at the Goldendale Catholic
cemetery May 18 by the Rev. Martin Skehan for William A. Sarsfield, 55, who
died at Portland May 13. Requiem Mass was said at the St. Mary's Cathedral
at Portland. Sarsfield died at his home of a heart attack. He had lived at
Portland for the past 31 years.
He was born at Centerville September 8, 1898 to Anthony
and Margaret Sarsfield, who came to the area in the early 80s. He was wed
to Agnes Hoctor at Goldendale January 15, 1921.
Survivors include the widow, of Goldendale; two sons,
James E. of Goldendale and William P. Sarsfield of Seattle and one grandson;
brothers James of Spokane, John of Portland and Frank of The Dalles; and
one sister, Sister Mary Gladys of the Medford, Oregon.
The pallbearers were Joe, Will, John, and Bob Hoctor,
Paul Davenport and Jack Mulligan.
