DEATH OF WM. THOMPSON - on March 21, at Pleasant, Wn. Thompson died. A correspondent of the AGRI., Mrs. E.A. Wylie, sends in a kindly tribute to this memory. Mrs. Wylie says: "Will was a kind and loving son and brother, and he had many friends who mourn his loss. He was taken sick on Sunday, 15th, with pneumonia. Everything was done for him that could be, but of no avail. Wm. Thompson was born May 5, 1879, in Webster Co., Iowa, he being at the time of his death in his 25th year. He came with his parents and two brothers to Pleasant Valley from Morrow Co., Oregon, in February, 1899. Will as he was familiarly called, was loved by all who knew him, and always had a pleasant smile and word for old and young. He will be sadly missed. He leaves a father, mother and two brothers to mourn his loss. They have the deepest sympathy of the entire neighborhood. The deceased united with the M.E. church over a year ago, under the ministry of Rev. Wilber Baldwin. Since that time there had been a great change in him. Our dear friend has paid the debt we all must pay sooner or later; and was laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley cemetery on Sunday the 22nd inst., services being conducted by Elder M.S. Short and J.M. Wylie." A few lines of verse, to the memory of the deceased, will be found on another page.
