WALTER A. THOMAS July 29, 1911 -- June 20, 1990
GATES -- Walter A. Thomas Sr., 78, died Wednesday in
Stayton.
He was born in Trout Lake, Wash., and moved to Creswell
in 1941. He was a resident of Gates for 45 years. He married Antonia Marlo
on June 29, 1935 in Stevenson, Wash. He was a logger and sawmill operator
with Thomas Brothers Logging in White Salmon, Wash.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Walter Thomas Jr. of
Mill City and Chris Emmerson of Gates; daughter, Aloha Lilian of Madera,
Calif., sisters, Jessie Adams of Portland and Mabel Yankas of Mill City;
seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Weddle
mortuary, Stayton, and with ritualistic services provided by the Masonic
and Odd Fellows lodges.
Interment will be Trout Lake, Wash., Cemetery.
