SERVICES HELD OCT. 2ND AT PRINEVILLE, ORE.
William Authur Thompson was born September 22 1900 at
Fossil, Oregon to Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Thompson and passed away September 27,
1965, at Prineville Memorial Hospital, Prineville, Oregon.
When he was nine years old he moved with his family to
Lyle, Washington where he lived until July 1937. He graduated from White
Salmon High School in 1919 and is remembered by many people in this community.
He was married to Bessie Tuthill of Lyle on September
30, 1933. In 1937 they moved to Pomeroy, Washington, where he lived until
April of 1948 when they moved to Prineville, Oregon.
He resided in Prineville until his death.
He was a lumber grader for Consolidated Pine Lumber Company
has since 1948.
Besides his wife Mrs. Bessie Ruth Thompson he is survived
by three sons, Arthur Virgil of Corvallis, Oregon; Sidney Russell of Denver,
Colorado, David Terrance of Madras, Oregon; one daughter, Mrs. Susan Ruth
Charles of Seattle, Washington and three grandsons.
Also his mother Mrs. Lulu Thompson of White Salmon and
two sisters, Mrs. Noma Miller of White Salmon and Mrs. Erma Taylor of Dupont,
Washington, and many other close relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted October 2 at the Prineville
Funeral Home followed by graveside services and interment at the White Salmon
Goodwill Cemetery.

FUNERAL RITES SATURDAY FOR WM. A. THOMPSON
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10
at at the Prineville Funeral Home for William Arthur Thompson, 65, Prineville
resident for the past 17 years who died at Pioneer Memorial Hospital yesterday
(Wednesday). The Rev. Eugene Slape of the First Assembly of God Church will
officiate with burial at White Salmon, Wash., Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
Mr. Thompson was born Sept. 22, 1900 in Fossil and came
to Prineville in 1948 from White Salmon. He had been a lumber tallyman with
Consolidated Pine for the past 17 years.
He was married to Bessie R. Thompson Sept. 30, 1933,
in White Salmon. She survives.
Other survivors inlcude his mother, Mrs. Eliza Thompson
of White Salmon; three sons, Arthur Virgil of Prineville, Sidney Russel of
Denver, Color., and Terry of Madras; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Ruth Charles
of Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. Noma Miller of White Salmon and Mrs. Erma Taylor
of Dupont, Wash.; and two grandsons.
