Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, at Gardner
Funeral Home in White Salmon for William Elmer Beeks, 72, of Dallesport,
who died in Klickitat Feb. 25. Burial will follow at Lyle Balch Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Goldendale to Mary (Sellers)
and William A. Beeks. The long-time rancher began going to sheep camps at
age 8 with family members. Due to his father's injury, he started to work
to support the family during his teen years.
Mr. Beeks married Pauline Loomis of White Salmon March
17, 1940. He was a rancher most of his life but worked as a road grader for
logging companies the past 20 years.
He was a past member of Masonic Lodge and the Cattleman's
Association. He was active in the Good Sam Club and Columbia Grange No. 87
in Lyle. He liked to hunt, but working was his main hobby.
Mr. Beeks is survived by sons Dennis Beeks of Dallesport
and Daryl Beeks of Klickitat; sisters Ellen Buchanon of Tacoma and La Dene
Keene of Torrance, Calif.; brother Allen Beeks of White Salmon; four
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials in his name may be given to Columbia Grange
No. 87 of Lyle.

WILLIAM ELMER BEEKS
William Elmer Beeks, 72, a resident of Dallesport, died
on Monday in Klickitat.
He was born Aug. 7, 1918 in Goldendale to William A.
and Mary (Sellers) Beeks.
He started going to sheep camps when he was eight with
family members and due to his father's injuries he started to work to support
the family during his teen years.
He married Pauline Loomis in White Salmon on March 17,
1940. He was a rancher most of his life but worked as a road grader for logging
companies the past 20 years.
He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge, the Cattlemen's
Association, the Good Sam Club and Columbia Grange No. 87 in Lyle. He enjoyed
hunting.
Survivors inlcude two sons, Dennis, Dallesport, and Daryl,
Klickitat; two sisters Ellen Buchanon, Tacoma, and La Dene Keene of Torrance,
Calif.; a brother, Allen Beeks, White Salmon; four grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

Funeral home in White Salmon. Burial will follow at Lyle Balch Cemetery in
Lyle.
