LYLE YOUNG MAN KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT
Everett Crane, the 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W.V.
Crane of Lyle, was killed late Thursday night when the automobile he was
driving turned turtle near the gravel pit a short distance westerly from
Lyle, pinned him underneath and crushed his chest. Young Crane, who was alone
in the car, had been visiting some friends out of Lyle and left for his home
about 11 o'clock at night. His failure to arrive home caused a search to
be made, which resulted in him being found dead about midnight and the overturned
machine resting on his body.
According to reports received in Goldendale, the young
man was proceeding homeward in the darkness with the aid of a flashlight,
the lights on the car being out of order. Near the gravel pit he drove too
close to the side of the road and struck a log, which caused the car to turn
over, and the fatal accident was the result.
