WILLIAM E. MEEHAN
William E. Meehan was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on
October 19th, 1860, and lived there until about 19 years of age when he began
working for the Northern Pacific railroad company. He worked his way out
west and arrived in The Dalles, Oregon, in the early 80's.
He came to Klickitat county in 1883 and took up a homestead
southwest of Centerville, Washington. He made this his home there until about
fourteen years ago, when, on account of failing health, he moved to Goldendale,
Washington, where he lived until a short time before his death which occurred
July 13th, 1933. He being 72 years, 8 months and 24 days of age.
So far as is known, he leaves no relatives in this country,
but he leaves a host of good friends who will greatly miss him. He was a
member of the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services were held from the Holy Trinity Catholic
church on Monday, July 17, at 8:30 A.M., interment following in the Catholic
cemetery.

"Late Local Intelligence Of Town And Country"
The funeral of the late William Meehan, 70, who died July 15, was held from the Holy Trinity Catholic church at Goldendale on Monday July 17. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. The deceased had lived in Klickitat county for the past 45 years. Ten years ago he suffered a nervous breakdown which later developed into a brain disease. He was unmarried.
