WILLIAM HALTENHOFF SERVICES HELD HERE

     Funeral services for William Ferdinand Haltenhoff, 81, father of Mrs. Theo. Franz, of Blockhouse, who passed away in Yakima May 27, following an extended illness, were held from the Phillips Funeral Home in Goldendale Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. P. Glenn Garner, officiating.
     Mr. Haltenhoff came to Goldendale in 1934 and has since made his home with his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Franz, at Blockhouse. Other survivors besides Mrs. Franz include, a daughter, Miss Martha Haltenhoff and a son, Henry; a brother, George Haltenhoff, of The Dalles, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Kallgren, of San Diego and Mrs. Ida Nebi, who resides in Germany.

WILLIAM HALTENHOFF

     William Ferdinand Haltenhoff was born Sept. 16, 1861, at Byemen, Germany. He passed away May 27, 1943, at Yakima, Wash., at age of 81 years, after an illness of several months.
     When a very young man he came to the United States and lived for several years in New York, coming to Butte, Mont. in the early eighties. Here he married Therese Kroger and to this union seven children were born.
     After spending twenty-seven years in Butte and Anaconda, Mont., he removed to eastern Montana and northern Wyoming where he operated a large cattle ranch.
     In 1933 he removed to the west coast, living a year at The Dalles and then the remainder of his life with his children on a ranch at the Blockhouse, eight miles west of Goldendale.
     He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Mrs. Theo. Franz and Mrs. Martha Haltenhoff, and one son, Henry; a brother, George Haltonhoff of The Dalles and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Kallgren of San Diego and Mrs. Ida Nebi in Germany.
