"Locals and Personals"
William Fannon Mulligan, the nine year old son of Mrs. Paul Hause, died Sunday afternoon at five o'clock from burns received about eleven o'clock that morning. The funeral was held Tuesday, October 8 at 11 o'clock, at the Catholic church, interment following in the Catholic Cemetery. The little fellow evidently was building a fire in the kitchen stove, or else poured what he thought was kerosene on the fire. The can of gasoline exploded, covering him with a flaming fluid. Paul Hause attempted to smother the flames with a rug, burning his hands seriously. Medical aid was secured at once, but little could be done, as the boy was burned deeply from head to foot. The sorrowing relatives have the deep sympathy of the entire community.
