OBITUARY

     W.F. Smith was born at Thornton, Indiana, March 27, 1871, where he lived until 19 years of age. At this age he moved to Salem, Iowa, where he married Miss Margaret E. Willis on Jan. 1, 189.
     He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and nine children: Esther A. Freer, near Goldendale; Frances P. Athow, of Goldendale; Joseph W., Cecil W., Miss Mary L. Otis D., Margaret C., Clair H., and August R. Smith, who remain at home; also an aged mother, one brother, and one sister, whose home is at Thornton, Indiana; also four grandchildren.
     Mr. Smith joined the M.E. church at the Donalson Chapel, in Iowa, in Dec., 1896, to which his name remained, having never changed his membership from his home church.
     Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, from the Chapel, M.L. Sanders, D.D., officiating, followed by interment in the Spring Creek cemetery.
