W.G. KELLOGG DIES OF HEART FAILURE
William Gloucus Kellogg died Monday at the age of 64 years. The cause of his
death was heart failure while working on the roof of the Walter Hunsaker home in
the city.
Mr. Kellogg was born in Iowa. He was married 41 years
ago, and came west in 1882 to Walla Walla, where he lived for eight years. He
then moved to La Crosse where he lived 5 years; then in Newport, Idaho, where he
resided for 25 years, coming to White Salmon three years ago. He had been in
ill health for some time.
Besides his widow, four children and two brothers, a
host of friends mourn his loss. The children are Mrs. Ruby Baker of Coeur
d’Alene, Idaho; Mrs. Rose Long of this city; Earl and William Kellogg of
Newport, Wash. The brothers are Grant Kellogg of Oregon City and Wasco Kellogg
of Portland.
The funeral services were held at the Congregational
church Wednesday at 2 p.m., with internment in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery.
