FINAL RITES ON THURSDAY FOR W. MARTIN

     A funeral service for Warner Martin, who died December 20th, was held Thursday afternoon, December 22nd at the Bethel Congregational Church with Roger L. Clevenger officiating. Pallbearers were: Dan Burdett, Durwood Jaeger, Robert Beeks, Robert Tokarczyk, John Groves, Frank Daubenspeck, Ivan West and Harvey Mansfield. Burial was at the Odd Fellows Cemetery at White Salmon with graveside ceremonies by the American Legion Post no. 192 of Trout Lake.
     Warner Martin was born May 7, 1924. In his youth he was an Eagle Scout and assistant scoutmaster under the leadership of Rev. George Jefferson. He was active in high school activities receiving letters in Basketball, football and band. He was graduated from the White Salmon High School in 1943.
     Between July 1943 and May 1946 he served in the United States Marine Corps. During this time he received the Bronze Star Citation for service beyond the call of duty in action on Iwo Jima. Upon returning from the service he attended Central Washington College of Education and received his A.B. degree in 1951.
     While attending college at Ellensburg he met Ann Spoon of Seattle. They were married in the First Christian Church in Vancouver by Rev. George Jefferson December 19, 1949. From this union were born four children, Cathy, Nancy, David and Linda.
     They moved to Trout Lake in the summer of 1951, and since then he had been in business with his father, Floyd Martin, in Bingen.
     He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post in Trout Lake and active in the Trout Lake Presbyterian Church.
     Besides his wife and children he leaves behind his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Martin of White Salmon; one sister, Mrs. Paul Kringelhede of Milwaukee, Oregon, one nephew, two nieces, three aunts, one uncle and a host of friends.
     Among those coming from a distance for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kringelhede and family, Mrs. William Perry and Rev. Lloyd Roholt of Milwaukee, Oregon; Mrs. L.R. Montgomery, R.A. Montgomery, Rev. and Mrs. L. Montgomery, E.C. Martin, David Clark, Philip Glass, Lynn Jackson of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bowman, Redmond, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Guy and Mrs. Cecil Ward of Goldendale; Mrs. Cleo Benzel, Mrs. Judie Scobee and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kreig, Hood River, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Trackwell of Seattle; Paul Brewer of Afghanistan and Mrs. Clark Conrad of Des Moines, Washington.

WARNER MARTIN SERVICE TODAY: WORLD WAR II VET

     Funeral services will be held today before Warner G. Martin at the Congregational Church at 1:30.
     Warner Martin died on Tuesday, December 20th. He is survived by his wife Anne, and four children; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Martin of White Salmon and a sister, Mrs. Doris Kringelhede of Milwaukee, Oregon.
     Warner was a veteran of World War II, seeing action in the Pacific theater.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 22 at Bethel Congregational church for Warner G. Martin, 36, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Martin of White Salmon.
     Gardners are in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Roger L. Clevenger will officiate. Trout Lake American Legion Post 192 will participate in committal rites at the White Salmon Odd Fellows Cemetery.
     Casket bearers will be Dan Burdett, Durwood Jeager, Robert Beeks, Robert Tokarczyk, Robert Grover and Frank Daubenspeck.
     Warner was born May 7, 1924 at White Salmon were he made his home until he was married Dec. 19, 1949 in Vancouver. Since then he has lived in Trout Lake valley.
     He is a Marine Corps veteran and was associated with his father as consignee for Union Oil.
     Warner has been in poor health for several years and died Tuesday Dec. 20 at Skyline hospital, White Salmon.
     He is survived by his wife Ann and four children, Kathy, Nancy, David and Linda, all of Trout Lake; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Martin of White Salmon and sister, Mrs. Doris Kringelhede of Milwaukee, Ore..
     Warner was a member of American Legion Post 192 of Trout Lake and Bethel Congregational Church of White Salmon.
