WILLIAM ARNETT
William H. Arnett, a White Salmon native, died on Oct.
3, 1999, at the Hood River Care Center, at the age of 75.
Mr. Arnett was born July 9, 1924, in White Salmon to
William W. and Orva L. (Maine) Arnett. He was raised in Gilmer, graduating
from Columbia High School in 1942. He worked as a saw filer for SDS Lumber
Co. for 18 years, retiring in 1977. He worked as a mill worker all his adult
life and served with the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Mr. Arnett was a member of BPOE in White Salmon. He enjoyed
gardening and woodworking.
Mr. Arnett is survived by his wife, Mary; sons Derrin
W. Arnett, Portland, and Danny M. Arnett, Fairview, Ore.; sister Luvena Maulden,
Kennewick; and granddaughter Amy Wilson.
Graveside services for Mr. Arnett will be held Friday,
Oct. 8, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Parkinson's Foundation.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home of
White Salmon.
