Graveside services for William Harold Aycock who died
Saturday at his Bridgeport home, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at the
Lyle Cemetery. He was 81.
Pastor Les Haarstad of the Lyle Full Gospel Assembly
will officiate.
Mr. Aycock was born Jan. 2, 1912 in Dayton, Wash. to
John and Mary Aycock. He was raised and educated in Eastern Washington and
moved to Medical Springs, Ore. from Glenwood in 1933. He was a timekeeper
and store manager for the general store operated by the Ponderosa Lumber
Co. He moved to Wallowa, Ore. in 1947 and was manager of the Shell Mercantile
Store.
In 1954 he bought a grocery and sporting goods store
in The Dalles, and then in 1965 he bought a supply store in Sumpter. He retired
in 1974.
Mr. Aycock enjoyed the outdoors, mining, fishing, hunting
and rock hunting.
He is survived by his daughters, Jackie and her husband,
Larry Smith of Bridgeport, Ore., and Patty Simpson of Joseph, Ore.; sister,
Verla Monahan of Dallas, Ore.; four grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Maude Aycock.

William Harold Aycock, 81, of Bridgeport, died Saturday
, June 5, 1993, at his home.
His graveside funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the
Lyle Cemetery in Lyle, Wash.
Mr. Aycock was born Jan. 2, 1912, in Dayton, Wash., the
son of John and Mary Aycock. He was raised and educated in Eastern Washington

Mr. Aycock retired in 1974. He loved the outdoors, and
enjoyed mining, fishing, hunting and rockhounding.
He is survived by his daughters, Jackie, and her husband,
Larry Smith of Bridgeport; and Patty Simpson of Joseph; a sister, Verla Monahan
of The Dalles; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Aycock was preceded in death by his wife, Edna.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a favorite
through the Monroe Mortuary in Baker City.
