WILLIAM H. RITZSCHKE
William L. Ritzschke, 99, a lifelong resident of the
Centerville, Wash. area before moving to The Dalles in 1970, died in The
Dalles on Thursday.
He was born Dec. 7, 1886 to Frank and Minnie Andre Ritzschke.
He farmed in the Centerville area until he retired in 1958. He moved to The
Dalles in 1970.
He was a charter member of the Centerville Pioneer
Association and was a member of the Centerville Grange for 54 years. His
hobby was gardening and his family home was a show place of flowers and
vegetables.
Survivors include two daughters, Iris Neal, The Dalles;
and Margaret Jeanette Jensen, Echo; three sisters, Esther Jaekel, Goldendale;
Minnie Strahl, The Dalles; and Illene Spencer, Portland; five grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. His wife, Hanna,
died in 1977.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Knosher-Erdman
Funeral Home in Goldendale with Eldon Wiidanen officiating. Burial will be
in the Goldendale Cemetery.
