Mr. Leaton, a pioneer of Camas Prairie, passed away at Hood River hospital Saturday morning and was buried in Mt. Adams cemetery Monday. A very large crowd of friends, and neighbors gathered to pay their last respects to a well known pioneer. Honorary pall bearers were: Frank Shaw, Peter Conboy, G.W. Gilmer, O.P. Kreps, W.F. Jebe and Ed Snipes. Acting pall bearers were: members of the family. Mr. Leaton leaves to mourn his loss: his widow and five daughters and one son, 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, and a large circle of friends who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

WILLIAM HENRY LEATON
William Henry Leaton was born in Geneva, New York, Jul
11, 1860. He moved with his parents when a small boy to Michigan.
In 1881 he was married to Addie Barnes at Wayland, Michigan,
where he lived until 1887 when he and his wife moved to Klickitat county,
Washington, where he engaged in farming and stock raising continuously until
his death.
To this union seven children were born, James, Ethel,
Orpha, Cassie, Frank, Hazel and Winnie. Two sisters and three brothers preceded
him in death and one sister, Mrs. I.H. Barlow, of Lyle, Wash., survives him,
also fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Leaton passed away June 8th, 1935, at the age of
74 years, 10 months and 27 days.
Funeral services were held from the church in Glenwood,
Wash., Monday, June 10th, 1935, at 2:00 p.m., Elder S.C. Eshelman, of
Centerville, Wash., officiating. Funeral arrangements were in charge of M.W.
Chapman, of Goldendale, Wash.

Pioneer of Glenwood Section Passes Away at Age of 74 Years.
William Henry Leaton, regarded in Klickitat county as one of its old-time substantial citizens, passed away June 8. Services were conducted at Glenwood Monday with scores of friends attending to honor the memory of the pioneer.
