WILLIAM PARRISH

     Memorial services for William L. Parrish of Goldendale, who died Tuesday, June 23, in Portland, Ore., at the age of 74, were held Monday, June 29, in the Goldendale Senior Center.
     He was born March 4, 1913 to Stanley and Nellie Parrish in Pendleton, Oregon. He was raised in the Pendleton area and in 1934 married Dorothy Sweet.
     They farmed wheat in Cold Springs Canyon until 1961, when they moved to High Prairie near Goldendale, where they had purchased a ranch along with his brother, Carl. Mr. Parrish farmed there until 1973, when he began farming with Ken Hart in Moro, Ore., which he did until 1981. He served for many years on the Lyle School Board and was a member of the Centerville Grange.
     Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Goldendale, sons James R. of New Auburn, Wis., and William E. of Lyle; daughters Kathryn L. Montgomery of Pendleton and Alice M. Parker of White Salmon; brother Carl of Lyle and sister Frances Bondurant of Hermiston, Ore., and nine grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edgar and Jesse.
