WALTER LADIGES
Walter Ladiges, son of Max and Elizabeth Ladiges, was
born in Glenwood on March 26, 1910 and passed away in Glenwood on March 12,
1968 at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 12 days. He lived and ranched
all his life in the Glenwood area. He served his country in World War II
in the Alaska area for about a year and in the States the rest of his tour
of duty.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Lillie on Dec. 6,
1960. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Glenwood and also a
member of the Klickitat County Cattleman's Association, as well as a past
member of the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Gladys; one
daughter, Shirley Kelley of Castroville, CA.; four step-daughters, Ruby McKinney,
Yakima, Barbara Taggart, Rainier, OR.; Lorraine Hector, Portland, Or., and
Sylvia Reese of Olympia; his two brothers, Max and Paul Ladiges of Glenwood;
three sisters, Charlotte Eagleton, Lucille Bolt and Ellie Gribner, all of
Portland, OR.; and aunt and uncle, many nieces and nephews; 21 grandchildren
and one great granddaughter, and a host of friends.
The memorial services were held Friday, March 15, 1968
in the Glenwood Pioneer Memorial church. Rev. M.B. Ketcham of Goldendale
officiated. Pallbearers were George Hathaway, William Leaton, Albin Bergland,
Norman Troh, Osmar Kuhnhausen, Wallace Davis, Kenneth Sheridan and Roy Fuller.
Interment was in the Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.

WALTER LADIGES FUNERAL HELD
Funeral services were held Friday March 15, at Glenwood
Pioneer Memorial Church for Walter Ladiges, 57, who died suddenly at his
home in Glenwood March 12. Burial was in the Mt. Adams Cemetery at Glenwood.
Rev. M.B. Ketcham of Goldendale officiated. Casket bearers were George Hathaway,
William Leaton, Osmar Kuhnhausen, Kenneth Sheridan, Albin Bergland, Norman
Troh, Wallace Davis and Roy Fuller.
Ladiges, who was born at Glenwood on March 26, 1910 was
a member of the Elk's Lodge and the Cattleman's Association of Klickitat
County.
Surviving are: his widow, Gladys Ruby Ladiges, Glenwood;
daughter, Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Kelley, of Castroville, Calif.; three sisters,
Lucille Bolt, Mrs. Gus (Elizabeth) Gribner and Charlotte Eagleton, all of
Portland; two brothers, Max L. Ladiges, Jr. and Paul Ladiges, both of Glenwood,
and five grandchildren.

SUDDEN DEATH TAKES WALTER LADIGES
Walter Ladiges died suddenly at his home in Glenwood, Tuesday, March 12. Funeral arrangements, in charge of Gardner's Funeral Home have been made setting services for Friday, Mar. 15 at the Glenwood Pioneer Memorial Church.
