WILLA MAE UPTMOR
Willa Mae Uptmor was born January 27, 1897 in Greenville,
SC and died at her home in Goldendale November 13, 1968. She was one of 12
children of George and Lula Gilstrap.
The family moved to Fort Benton, Mt. where she married
Frank Uptmor on April 25, 1916. To this union were born two sons, Frank K.,
Jr. and Chester W. Then they moved to Burke, Id. where they lived from 1935
to 1943. The next move was to Goldendale where they lived at the ranch at
Pine Forest until 1953 when they moved to town.
Willa Mae was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic
Church.
Surviving are her husband, Frank, two sons, Frank K.,
Jr., of Selah, and Chester W. of Goldendale; one granddaughter, Darlene Uptmor
of Goldendale; two sisters, Irene Gilstrap, Washington, DC and Anna Hill,
butte, Mt.; and two brothers, Kirk Gilstrap of Tacoma and George Gilstrap
of Richmond.
Rosary services were held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November
15, 1968 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial services were held on
Saturday, November 16, 1968 with Father Byron officiating.
Pallbearers were August Jackel, Leo Garner, Clarence
Ensley, George McCredy, Frank Dooley and Adolph Zeret.
Interment was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
