WILLIAM RAYMOND MEIGGS

     Funeral services for William Raymond Meiggs, of Underwood, were held at the Gardner Funeral home on Sunday, November 26, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. H.V. Rominger in charge.
     Interment was in the Underwood cemetery.
     Mr. Meiggs was born in Rhode Island July 10, 1886 and died November 24 at his home in Underwood. He was 53 years of age at the time of his death.
     Surviving him are his wife and three children, Betty, Raymond and Vernon.

Raymond Meiggs Owned Store and Service Station Since 1921

   Funeral services for the late William Raymond Meiggs, of Underwood, were held  Sunday afternoon at Gardner Funeral chapel, with the Rev. Rominger officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Underwood cemetery.
     William Raymond Meiggs was born July 10, 1886 in Block Island, Rhode Island, and passed away on November 24 after a lingering illness. He was married in 1914 and had been conducting a store and service station in Underwood since 1921. He was a  member of the Eagles lodge of Stevenson.
     Mr. Meiggs is survived by his widow, Freda Marie Meiggs, a daughter, Elizabeth Cecelia, and two sons, Raymond and Vernon.

RAY MEIGGS PASSES AWAY AT UNDERWOOD

     Raymond Meiggs, Sr., for more than 20 years a resident of Underwood, passed away at his home there last Friday after an illness of a few weeks. For several years he had operated by Shell Service station which, only recently, he had leased.
     Prominent in local civic and political affairs, he was widely known.
     Funeral services were held from the Gardner Chapel in White Salmon Sunday, attended by a host of friends from all parts of Skamania County. Burial was in the Underwood cemetery.
     Surviving him is a wife, Frieda Meiggs; a daughter, Miss Betty Meiggs and two sons, Raymond, Jr., and Vernon Meiggs, all of home.
