WILLIAM PARSONS
Williams Raymond Parsons, a Columbia High School graduate,
died Nov.19, 1999, in BZ Corners, at the age of 42.
Mr. Parsons was born Oct.24, 1957, in The Dalles, Ore.,
to Ralph S. and Hazel "Haze" R. (Bertschi) Parsons. He started school in
Glenwood and then moved to BZ and attended school in White Salmon, graduating
in 1976. For several years, he alternated between going to school and fishing
in Alaska. Mr. Parsons spent two fishing seasons in the Aleutian Islands.
He attended the University of Washington in Seattle for one year.
He married Gayle Rude on Jan. 10, 1982, in White Salmon
and the couple lived in BZ Corners. Alter fishing, Mr. Parsons worked in
road construction and in the woods. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending
time with his kids. Fishing, hunting, camping and buying and trading tractors
were also great joys. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife Gayle; son Jason
and daughter Jamie, BZ Corners; mother Hazel Parsons, BZ Corners; brothers
Glen Parsons, Estacada, Ore., and Ralph and Tim Parsons, both of BZ Corners;
sisters Bonnie Harris, White Salmon, Donna Robles, Guadalajara, Mexico, and
Vera Browning, Trout Lake; and aunt Luellen Ward, Gresham, Ore. He was preceded
in death by his father and brother Steven LeRoy Parsons.
A memorial service for Mr. Parsons was held Wednesday,
Nov. 24, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the White Salmon Park Center.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home, White
Salmon.
