WALTER ROY WALKER MEMORIAL SATURDAY

     Services have been set for Saturday, June 8, for Walter Roy Walker, 70, resident of the Goldendale area for 65 years, who died Wednesday.
     Mr. Walker had lived most recently in the Blockhouse area west of Goldendale. He had been a patient at Klickitat Valley Hospital five days at the time of his death, which was attributed to a heart condition.
     Rev. M.B. Ketcham will officiate at the funeral, at the Knosher Funeral Home. Interment will be at Spring Creek cemetery, auspices of Louis Leidl Post No. 116, American Legion.

WALTER ROY WALKER

     Walter Roy Walker was born Dec. 3, 1892 in Umatilla County, Oregon, near Pendleton, and passed away in Goldendale on June 5, 1963, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 2 days.
     He moved to Klickitat County in October, 1897, where he lived the balance of his life except the years he spent in the U.S. Navy during World War 1. He served aboard the U.S.S. Arkansas.
     Roy followed the carpenter trade most of his life and did much finish work on the interior of the Maryhill Museum.
     His father was a Presbyterian minister, who brought his family up in the Christian way of life.
     Roy never married. He is survived by his two brothers, Henry of Goldendale and Ralph of White Salmon; his two sisters, Luzetta Gossard of Toppenish and Gertrude Bruneau of Portland, plus many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
     Services were held Saturday, June 8, from the Knosher Funeral Home with burial in the Spring Creek cemetery.

     Services were held Saturday, June 8, for Walter Roy Walker, 70, Goldendale brother of Ralph Walker of White Salmon, Henry of Goldendale, Luzetta Gossard of Toppenish and Gertrude Bruneau of Portland.
     Roy was born Dec. 3, 1892 near Pendleton, Oregon and has lived in Klickitat County since October 1897. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War I, was a skilled carpenter and never married. Burial was in Spring Creek cemetery.
