OBITUARY

     Walter Valentine Woods, son of the George and Emma Woods was born in Waseca County, Minn., February 14, 1880 and passed away January 4, 1929 at the age of 48 years, 10 months and 20 days.
     At the age of 9 years, he came with his parents to Goldendale. He attended the public schools of Goldendale. At an early age he became a member of the First Christian Church of Yakima, and the rest of his life he lived up to that faith.
     In 1908, he was united in marriage to Alice Moore, of Goldendale, who passed away in 1912. In 1914 he was united in marriage to Emma Beal, of Vancouver, Wash. He was the father of five children, two having died in infancy.
     He was a devoted husband, a kind father, loving brother and a good neighbor. He always tried to look on the bright side of life and was a great lover of little children. He was a member of the Goldendale Grange and carried life insurance in the Sun Life.
     He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Emma woods; three children, Claude, Violet and William; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Turner and Mrs. Edith Mabry; three brothers, LeRoy, Romanzo, and Lewis Woods, also a host of relatives and friends, who will miss him and fill his loss keenly.
     The funeral services were conducted at the Chapman Chapel, Sunday at 2 o'clock, Claude Eshelman, an old friend of the family, officiating. The sermon was very impressive. A large crowd gathered to pay their last respects and the floral tributes to were beautiful. He was laid to rest in the Spring Creek Cemetery.

"Obituary"

WALTER A. WOODS

     Walter A. Woods, aged 40, residing southeast of Goldendale, died this Friday morning, Jan. 4, 1929. He had a severe attack of Flu, and was taken to The Dalles hospital but failed to rally.
     He is survived by his wife and three children. No arrangements for the funeral have yet been made.

W.A. WOODS

     The funeral of the late Walter A. Woods was held from the Chapman chapel on Sunday, Jan. 6, 1929, with interment in the Spring Creek cemetery.
     Announcement of the death of Mr. Woods was given in the Agri. last week.
