REV. TATE URGES COUNTY DIVISION
Rev. J.G. Tate, who is president of Hood River's progressive
organization and who has a pastorate at White Salmon, is just now campaigning
across the river in favor of the proposed division of Klickitat county.
A vigorous campaign is being waged throughout the west
end for county division. Enthusiastic meetings are being held in the different
precincts, beginning at Appleton, where a large attendance was addressed
by A.R. Hayes, W. Scott Coe and Rev. Tate. Glenwood was enthused Tuesday
night, Trout Lake Wednesday night, and Husum was addressed Friday evening.
There is little doubt that a majority of the proposed new county residents
of 500 square miles will vote favorably at the primaries.
