The Hood River Glacier, Good River, OR., August 2, 1906, page 1
NEW TELEPHONE LINE COMPLETED
The new telephone line of the Mt. Hood Company was completed
last week and as soon as an exchange is established at Mt. Hood the company
will be ready for business. The new line connects with the Pacific States
company at Hood River opposite Fletchure's store and the Mt. Hood company
has made arrangements with the Pacific States to use its exchange service
in this city.
The new company will be able to service as many subscribers
as wish to connect. As an inducement to those who wish to take advantage
of the conveniences of their line the new company offers to build one-quarter
mile of line from the main line free, the subscriber to stand the expense
of the remaining distance. This concession will include most of the residents
along the line and the company is expected to open for business with a good
list of subscribers.
