It promises to be more social and less formal than the regular monthly meeting -- nor is it on a Wednesday.  Come join the Trout Lake School directors in thinking Dr. Lou Gates for his six-year tenure as our superintendent.  If some days were challenging and difficult, many more went beyond normal and routine to be high achievement days.  Dr. Gates could be counted on to be positive, supportive and forward-looking.  So please note!  The school board meeting this month is on Thursday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Congratulations, Class of 2000.  You made an impressive 23 in your caps and gowns, as you marched with just the perfect amount of pomp and circumstance.  It was a pleasure and a fine satisfaction to watch you during the ceremony made memorable by each and every one of you.  This year's co-valedictorians were Tobin Rummel and Keith Whigham.  Salutatorian was Jonathan Steward.
Your chosen speaker, Dennis Anderson, gave an address that anyone of any age could take to heart, distinguishing between great and good in the lifelong pursuit to build character.  Our thanks for the gracious remarks by superintendent Lou Gates, grange representative Stan Rapp, class adviser Mary Landstrom, counselor Tammy Hosaka, and to the players of the advanced school band and their energetic music director Jeff Agar.
Prior to commencement, Dr. Gates welcomed the class of 2004 and class adviser Laurie Sherburne presented the 14 graduates of the eighth grade.
