By the time you read this it will be THE day of Adam Paxson's piano concert.  DON’T miss it.  Adam's parents, Fred and Diane, have a big surprise in store for Adam and the community.  It will be a once in a lifetime for some of us, so try to be there.  It's (tonight) Thursday, June 6, 7:30 p.m., in the school’s gym.  The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.  Adam is a participant in the Personal Accelerated Career Education (PACE) class led by Wayne Peterson.  The donations from the concert will be used toward the Civic Piano Project.  The goal of this project is to purchase a seven foot concert grand piano for the Civic Center in The Dalles. The entire Mid-Colombia area will benefit, as the piano will allow for classical concerts, recitals, jazz concerts, ballets and much more for performing artists.  Jill Minnick heads the project and about 150 students are performing and collecting donations for the piano.  So go to the concert and hear the benefits of Adam's hours and hours and hours of practice.

COUPLE MOVING TO IOWA, SAY GOODBYE
By the

Jack and Marilyn Brase are moving to Iowa and will be leaving June 22.  Good for them, sad for us.  A farewell potluck will be held in their honor Monday, June 17, at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s multipurpose room.  Drinks and table settings will be provided and you bring a dish to add to the fare.  This will be the last chance for most of us to see the Brases, so be there to say goodbye.  For more information, call Ruth Belieu, 395-2712, or Judy Smith, 395-2174.
For those of you who missed Adam Paxson's concert, you MISSED a concert.  He plays remarkably well.  Dave took lessons and played violin into his late teens, so he has a good ear for music, and he said that Adam is a remarkable pianist.  Thank you, Adam, for playing for us.  And thank you, Jill Minnick for teaching Adam so well.  And the Steinway was a great addition, although, I'll bet that Adam could make a toy piano sing.
