TROUT LAKE SCHOOL
The
entire high school and all the teachers entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
last Wednesday evening and escorted them to the school house where a surprise
party awaited them. Games and music occupied the greater part of the evening.
Later a wonderful lunch was served. One cake, made by Mrs. Coate, was
beautifully decorated and had the letters T. L. H. S. in pink and white on top.
Mr. Stewart was asked to cut this cake. The party was given as a farewell to
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, who declared they had never been treated more royally by
any school where they had previously worked.
Last Thursday the senior class accompanied by Miss Ruth Coate and
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart went to Hood River where they had their pictures taken.
They took advantage of the opportunity to also get their flowers and class
colors for graduation on Friday night.
Commencement exercises were held in the auditorium of the high
school last Friday evening. Those graduating were: Ronald Spencer, Charles
Brown, and Esther Schmid. Ronald Spencer was valedictorian and Esther Schmid,
salutatorian. Mr. Bennett, our county school supt. gave the address of the
evening. His talk was well received and many expressed the wish that his talk
might have been longer. The high school chorus sang one splendid selection.
The stage was decorated very tastefully with flowers and class colors.
