TROUT LAKE HI GRADUATES LARGE CLASS
Trout Lake, WN., May 17 – Special. The graduating class of ‘33 is one of the
largest that Trout Lake has ever had. There were eleven graduates. Mrs. Bessie
Pearson played “The Maiden’s Dream” while the class and faculty took their
places on the stage. Rev. Good gave the invocation. Gladys Aerni was
salutatorian. Mrs. Grant Strand and Mrs. Lester Coate sang a beautiful
selection accompanied by Mrs. Huffman on the piano. Then followed the
valedictorian, Verna Dietrich. Prof. M. C. Jacobs, of Whitman College gave a
wonderful thought to the class and to all present in this address “Bags of
Jewells.” Mrs. Helen Schmid gave the junior farewell. Mr. Orin Pearson
presented the diplomas and Rev. Good closed the exercises with a benediction.
The auditorium made one believe he was in a beautiful forest glade with the sun
shining brightly and the evergreens swaying slightly in the breeze. The scent
of dogwood and violet were present. The costumes of the girls were soft
splotches of pastel colors blending into the background of green and the boys
with their dark suits completed the picture of color and harmony.
We extend our congratulations and good wishes for the future to the
young folks and we hope that they will find as much success in their college
days.
