JUNIORS AND SENIORS BANQUET AT TROUT LAKE
The Junior class of Trout Lake High School honored the Senior class at the
annual banquet Tuesday evening, April 16. The parents of the Junior and
Seniors, the members of the school board and the teachers, as well as their
wives and husbands, were also guests.
The scene of the delightful occasion was the newly decorated Grange Hall
which made a beautiful picture with its many daffodils, yellow and white tapers,
and other appointments carrying out the Easter theme. The pastels of the spring
formals added their beauty to the picture which will live long in the memories
of the students and their guests.
The two main features of the evening were the addresses by Rev. George
Jefferson of White Salmon and Ralph Woodhouse, Superintendent of the Trout Lake
schools.
Rev. Jefferson chose for his theme “Go slow, rough road ahead,” the
familiar road sign. His remarks were well fitted to his audience and it was
evident that his many friends in Trout Lake are very appreciative.
Mr. Woodhouse gave a very inspiring and practical talk, addressing himself
particularly to the students who are soon to assume their roles as community and
world citizens. He stressed the importance of the part that each individual
contributes to the work of the group. It is certain that the members of the
classes of 1946 and 1947 will remember the advice that he presented so forcibly
at this time when thoughts of their life work is uppermost in their minds.
The student speakers made a very creditable appearance and their remarks
added much to the joy of the occasion.
The Junior-Senior Chorus presented two selections in their usual charming
manner.
