TROUT LAKE COMMENCEMENT THIS EVENING

Trout Lake graduation exercises will be held Thursday, May 28, in the school auditorium in the evening at 8:15.  Dr. Lewis D. Cannell, Dean of the Division of Liberal Arts, Clark College, Vancouver, will deliver the commencement address.  Valedictorian is Bonnie Coate and salutatorian is Sidney McCuistion.  Other members of the class are Bonita Conklin, Fred Canfield, Harvey Dodge, Orville Elmer, Carolyn Pearson, and Frank Stoller.
            Two numbers and the processional will be played by the high school band.  Invocation and benediction will be delivered by Reverend Glen Morton.  Caroline Pearson will play “Novelette No. 1” by Schumann on the piano.  Sydney McCuistion accompanied by Carolyn will sing “Through the Years” by Vincent Youmans and “Mother Dear”, a Polish folk song.
            The American Legion awards will be presented by Al Henry, Commander, and the Auxiliary award by Lucille Bauer, president of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion.  Superintendent Lyle Daverin will make the citizenship and scholarship awards.  Austa Daverin presents the eighth grade to Bessie Schmid, Clerk of the Board, who will give out the diplomas.  Eighth graders include: Ronnie Davis, Anita Deiders, Nolan Farnsworth, Helen Glascoe, Janet Guler, Lois Guler, Gary Landingham, Meliyn Locke, Lowell Murphy, Wayne Peterson, Mabel Smith, and Darryl Stoller.
            Lester Lewis, high school principal, will present the graduating seniors to E. F. Childs who will give out the diplomas on behalf of the school board.

TROUT LAKE VALEDICTORIAN

Bonnie Coate, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Coate, is valedictorian.  She skipped the fifth grade.  She has been a leader throughout her high school days, holding the offices of the student body treasurer and secretary, girls’ league and class officer, represented Trout Lake at Girls’ State last year, has been in several school plays and music productions.  She has enjoyed participation in sports, also.

TROUT LAKE SALUTATORIAN

Sidney McCuistion, salutatorian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. McCuistion, is the editor of this year’s annual.  She has been class president, secretary, Prom queen, and cheer leader.  She has participated in various plays and music program productions.  Music is her planned career.

TROUT LAKE SENIORS HEAR EXAM FOR LIFE

Trout Lake's Class of 1953 observed in their Baccalaureate services at 11 a.m., last Sunday, May 23.  Eight seniors and 12 eighth-grade graduates heard the Reverend Glen Morton spoke on “Examination for Life.”
            An elementary school chorus sang “Praise to the Lord” and “God Painted a Picture”.  The graduates are listed in another story.

     Heading Trout Lake's class of ‘53 is Bonnie Coate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Coate.  Bonnie's educational aptitude one early recognition.  She “skipped” the fifth grade.  She has been a real high school leader, has held the offices of Student Body treasurer and secretary, and was an officer of the Girl’s League and her class.  She represented Trout Lake at Girls’ State last year and has been in several school plays and music productions.  Bonnie is in all-around girl.  She also participated in schools sports.
