Trout Lake Graduating Exercises
Graduating exercises were held in the Trout Lake school on
Thursday evening. The Processional was played by Bettina McCuistion. Invocation
by Rev. Shellbak. The Trout Lake school band played and Nancy Dahl gave an Oboe
solo. Valedictorian was Abbie Wood, and Salutatorian was Anita Dieders. Merylyn
Quackenbush received the Betty Crocker award of Good Housekeeping. Leland Neal,
the American Legion award, presented by K.C. Langfield, a certificate of
distinguished achievement.
Mr. Joe Cowling gave the athletic awards and Rupert Jennings the
diplomas. The address of the evening was given by Rev. Vanderplog. There were
eight graduates -- Abbie Wood, Anita Dieders, Donita Rogers, Merylyn
Quackenbush, Darrell Stoller, Gary Landingham, Ronnie Davis and Richard Sharpe.
Two absentee graduates received diplomas – Leland Neal who joined the Air Force,
the 18th of April and Eddie Glascoe who is in the Submarine division of the U.S.
Navy. Chosen for the Girl State was the Junior Donna Craig, and for Boys State
Keith Silen and Ralph Portner.
