MARY CHILDS AND DIANE ZIMMERMAN HEAD TROUT LAKE’S CLASS OF 1962
Supt. of Schools Lee W. Gunderson of Trout Lake announces that Miss Mary Childs
is valedictorian and Miss Diane Zimmerman salutatorian of Trout Lake's Senior
Class of 1962.
Mary’s grade point average is 3.6 and Diane's 3.3. Both girls
aspire to be teachers and will attend college next year; Mary at the University
of Washington and Diane at Clark College, Vancouver.
Mary Childs
Mary
has been varsity cheerleader for three years and a member of the Student Council
for four years. She was a Sophomore class president and has held offices of
Council vice-president and secretary.
She played girls basketball and volleyball three years; had roles in
three school plays; was Prom Queen and Basketball Queen. This year she is
editor of the high school annual.
Mary has been the recipient of three outstanding honors: Girls’
State representative last year and this year winner of the Betty Crocker
Homemaker Award and Mt. Adams Elks Scholarship.
Diane Zimmerman
Diane has held the offices of class president and secretary for three years and
has been a member of the Student Council for two years.
She was Girls’ League treasurer, a varsity cheerleader, taken parts
in three class plays and has been a member of the volleyball team, annual staff,
Pep Club and Chorus.
