TOP SENIORS AT TROUT LAKE HIGH
Orin
Pearson is the valedictorian and Christine Saunders Neal, salutatorian, of the
Trout Lake Senior Class of 1963, according to announcement from Supt. Lee W.
Gunderson.
Orin, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pearson of Trout Lake, has
maintained a grade point average of 3.55 and plans to attend college next fall.
During four years of high school, all at Trout Lake, Orin
participated in basketball for four years; band and chorus, four years; Boys
League, four years; Honor Society, two years.
He was vice president of the Honor Society during his senior year;
was treasurer of his junior class; and has taken part in school plays.
Christy Neal
Christine Saunders Neal, a salutatorian, attended Glenwood High School for two
years and Trout Lake High for the past two years. She has a GPA of 3.47.
Christy has been president of the National Honor Society, senior
class treasurer, Student Council representative, member of the Girls’ League and
took part in the senior play.
She lived with her sister until she was married last month to
William Neal of Trout Lake. She looks forward to a career as a homemaker in
Trout Lake Valley where her husband is presently employed.

TROUT LAKE GRADUATION ON TUESDAY
Baccalaureate services for nine Trout Lake High School graduates will be held at
3 p.m. May 26 at Mt. Adams Baptist Church. Combined high school and 8yh grade
commencement exercises will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 in the school
gymnasium.
The Rev. Clarence Twigg of Mt. Adams Presbyterian churches will give
the Baccalaureate sermon. James Golladay, personnel superintendent for Crown
Zellerbach at Camas, will be commencement speaker.
Members of this year's graduating class are: Orrin Pearson,
valedictorian; Mary Christine Saunders Neal, salutatorian; James Allaway, Dan
Burdett, Carol Jennings, Katherine Lewis, Carol Portner, Darla Quackenbush and
Barbara Wood.
Supt. Lee W. Gunderson announces that high school students will
pre-register for next year from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29. Parents and
friends are invited to attend the award assembly from 12:40 to 1:30 p.m. after
which school will be dismissed for the Memorial Day holiday. The last day of
school is Friday, May 31.
Supt. Gunderson reports the following faculty resignations: Miss
Dorothy Aumann, librarian and English; Mrs. Virginia Zimmerman, science and
math; and Doyle Amos, industrial arts.

TROUT LAKE HI ANNOUNCES 2 TOP STUDENTS
Orin
Pearson has been announced as Valedictorian of the Trout Lake Senior Class of
1963. Orin has a grade point average of 3.55. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
George Pearson of Trout Lake. Orin has attended the Trout Lake High School for
all four years, and has participated in Basketball for 4 years; Band and Chorus,
4 years; Honor Society, 2 years and was Vice-President of the Honor Society
Chapter during his senior year. Orin was treasurer of his Junior Class and has
taken part in the school plays.
Orin plans to attend college next fall but as yet has not decided on
a definite course of study.
Christy Saunders Neal has been announced as Salutatorian of Trout
Lake High School Senior Class of 1963. Christy has made her home with a sister
until she was married this past month to William Neal of Trout Lake. Christy's
plans for the future are to be a homemaker in Trout Lake Valley where her
husband is presently employed.
Christy has a grade point average of 3.47. She has attended Trout
Lake High for the past two years and Glenwood school prior to that time.
Christy has been President of the local chapter of National Honor Society,
Senior Class Treasurer, Student Council Representative, a member of Girls League
and has taken part in the Senior Class play.
