And we quote “ have been told you would like to know the offices that I have held while in high school.  As a freshman, I was president of our class, a Student Council Representative, and played “A” volleyball.  In my sophomore year, I was treasurer of my class and for the Student Body, played “A” volleyball, was Secretary of the Girls’ League, and would scorekeeper for basketball.  This year I am treasurer for the Student Body, our class and Girls’ League.  I played “A” volleyball and was scorekeeper for basketball.  I have been in 4-H for five years and am a member of the Youth Group started in February.” Unquote.  In addition to this she is also a good “B” student.
The alternate is equally qualified.  She is Mary Lou Marshall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Marshall.  Mary was born in Vancouver December 25, 1947, and has attended all her school years here.  She is the youngest of five daughters.  She, too, has been active in school activities.  I will quote from her letter.  Quote “Freshman year: Student Council Representative; Girls’ League Songleader; B-Team Cheerleader; A-Team Volleyball.  Sophomore year: Student Council Representative; Class Secretary; B-Team cheerleader; A-Team Volleyball; Member of Girls’ Quartet.  Junior year: Class Secretary; Girls’ League Secretary; A-Team Cheerleaders; A-Team volleyball; Editor of the School Paper.  I am also interested in activities outside of school.  I belong to the new youth group started in February.  I belonged to teen-age bowling league in my sophomore year in high school.” unquote.  In addition she too is a “B” student.

MARGARET McNEEL AND MARY MARSHALL TOP TROUT LAKE’S CLASS OF GRADUATES

Appearance is misleading – but beauty was not a factor in choosing this year's top graduates at Trout Lake High School.  Margaret Ann McNeel was named Valedictorian and Mary Lou Marshall Salutatorian on the basis of outstanding academic achievement -- coupled with obvious extra-curricular leadership.
Margaret Ann has been very active in 4H Club work.  As a junior she received the “School Spirit” award and was Trout Lake's delegate to Girls’ State.  This year she won the Betty Crocker “Homemaker of Tomorrow” citation.
Her school and classmates have kept her busy in numerous positions: as a class officer all four years; student body president and treasurer; Girls’ League secretary and treasurer.
In addition to participating in the Senior play, one-act plays and chorus, Margaret has been active in sports.  She was basketball scorekeeper for three years, completed in girls track and volleyball and was volleyball captain in her junior year.
Mary Lou is also versatile.  She has been active in girls and volleyball and track.  In fact, she was captain of both teams this year.
She was a class secretary and cheerleader; member of the chorus and student council; had roles in her senior and one-act plays; and was editor of the annual and co-editor of “Trlahi.”
Mary Lou was Prom Princess in her junior year and Prom Queen as a senior.  She was secretary-treasurer of the “Letterettes” and held several Girls’ League offices as songleader, secretary and vice president.
Other members of the class of 1966 are George Arthur Bradley, Oscar Neil Manly, Lila Lee Pierce and Darrol Dean Rummel.
