GRADUATING SENIORS EARN SCHOLARSHIPS

            Graduating seniors at surrounding schools were the beneficiaries of their communities’ concern for education in the form of awards and scholarships presented during commencement exercises.
            Only information from Klickitat, Lyle and Trout Lake high schools was available before The Enterprise’s press deadline this week.

Lyle High School

Lyle Education Association Scholarship – Ed Hunt and Cheryl Bonham, $200 each.
Public School Employee Scholarship – Bonham, $100.
Lyle Lyons Club Scholarship -- Eric Hamm, $200.
Hal Wolfe Scholarship -- Hamm, one year tuition paid and $350.
Scholarship Trustee Award – John Amery, $2,500 paid to the University of Puget Sound.
Eastern Washington University Award -- -- Dan Sauter, Amery, Hamm, certificates of achievement.
Society of Women Engineers – Bonham, certificate of achievement for sciences and mathematics.
Senior Male Athlete -- Mel Walker.
Senior Female Athlete -- Gina Clark.
Citizenship Award – Bonham, Amery.
Most Improved Grade Point Average -- Jim Harris.
Presidential Academic Fitness Award -- Amery.
Washington State Principals’ Scholars Award -- Amery.

Klickitat High School.

Soroptimists Citizens Award -- Becky Weik, $100.
Emblem Club Scholarship – Maria Leis, $150.
Klickitat Education Association Scholarship -- Brian Uthmann, $200
Randall Arney Memorial Scholarship -- John Bellamy and Weik, $1,000 each.

Trout Lake HS

Booster Club Scholarship -- Tim Johnson, $400; John Denslinger, $150, and Mark Reynolds, $150.
Federated Women's Club Scholarship -- T. Johnson, $200.
Teachers’ Association Scholarship -- T. Johnson, Denslinger and Reynolds, $100 each.
Superintendent of Public Instruction Award -- Reynolds, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
Washington Secondary Principals’ Association Award -- Reynolds.
Mount Adams Elks Vocational Scholarship -- T. Johnson, $100.
