UNDERWOOD GYMNASIUM COMPLETED
Underwood School Notes
The new gym is almost finished, the lights are all put in and half the floor is
laid but no definite date has been set as to when the dedication will be. The
school children can hardly wait until it is finished.
In the regular meeting of the Underwood Student Body
Friday, Feb. 30th, they voted on having an editor and assistant editor to send
in the school news to the White Salmon Enterprise. Dorothy Perry was elected
editor and Theressa Rineland, assistant editor.
Catherine Hulse returned to school Monday, Feb. 2nd
after being absent eleven weeks. The children were glad to welcome her back
again.
Esther Larsen has been absent from school for about one
and a half weeks on account of Impetigo but is expecting to return to school
soon.
The primary room has a new keep clean chart. They
receive different marks for brushing their teeth, combing their hair and doing
different things.
The Underwood boys and girls basketball teams played
Bingen last Friday. The score of the boys game was 11 to 11. The score of the
girls’ game was 26 to 6 in favor of Underwood. Mr. Ingham refereed the boys’
game and Mrs. Slutz of Bingen the girls game. The Underwood boys and girls had
planned on playing Carson instead of Bingen but that game was called off
Saturday afternoon, Feb 7th.
