FORESTRY MAN DIES AT WILLARD
Eugene Vern Wright was born June 8, 1922 in Wallace,
South Dakota. He passed away May 23rd, 1958 at Willard, Washington at the
age of 35 years, 11 months and 15 days.
He was baptized when he was three weeks old in Codington
County, South Dakota. When he grew older, he went to school in this same
locality. In 1937 he came West with his parents and lived for a while in
Troutdale, Oregon. In 1946 he moved to Trout Lake with his parents. During
World War II he worked for the Oregon Shipyards, and in 1956 he went to work
for the Forestry Service at Willard, where he was taken ill suddenly and
passed away.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Bingen, of the
Trout Lake Grange, and he was baptized in the Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his father; Gordon C. Wright and his mother;
Louise C. Wright of Trout Lake, Washington. A grandmother, Mrs. R.A. Braik
of Boon, New Jersey, aunts and uncles and his God-parents; Mr. and Mrs. A.K.
Anderson.

SUDDEN ATTACK TAKES FOREST SERVICE SCALER
Eugene Vern Wright was born, 35-year-old Broughton lumber
scaler at Willard, was taken violently ill and died while taking a shower
at the Forest Service bunkhouse at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 23. Death may have
been due to diabetes. Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 26, at the Trout Lake Presbyterian
church.
Gardners were in charge of arrangements. Reverend Kenneth
Shellbach and Reverend Homer R. Coulson officiated. Burial was in Trout Lake
cemetery.
Pall bearers were Wm. McCuistion, Ben Jermann, Leonard
Conklin Jr. Edgar Knoll, Ivan Marsh and Christ Elmer.
Mr. Wright was born June 8, 1922 in Wallace, South Dakota
where was baptized and attended school.
In 1937 he came West with his parents to Troutdale, Oregon
and in 1946 he moved with them to Trout. Since 1956 he has worked for the
Forest Service at Willard.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Bingen, the Trout
Lake Grange and was baptized in the Lutheran church.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon C.
Wright of Trout Lake; grandmother, Mrs. R.A. Braik of Boon, New Jersey;
godparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.K. Anderson; aunts and uncles.

"Trout Lake News"
Troutlake was saddened Friday evening by the sudden passing
of Bud Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wright. He was on the job at Willard
for the forest service, suddenly became ill and passed on in a few hours.
Funeral services were Monday at the presbyterian Church, Troutlake. He will
be greatly missed by his many friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson, brother of Mrs. Gordon
Wright, and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Anderson and Ronald Stecht, all from South
Dakota, were weekend guests of the Gordon Wrights.
